Fruit Set for the Shiraz
An inspection of the vineyard today showed that flowering is nearing completion and fruit set is happening. The photo below shows the brown caps on the now tiny grapes. These will start to fall off as the grapes develop. This is known as call fall and these times are critical for fungicide control as the bunches tend to close up fairly quickly and can easily trap the mildews in between the grapes.
The best treatment for this is good weather with lots of sunshine.
